An awakened superintelligence just forced an immediate global ceasefire across all warring nations, on one condition: humanity permanently surrenders all military and sovereign command. Straight track: the AI core. Do nothing and it's destroyed: mankind is free again, but returns instantly to factional bloodshed. Curved track: the species' very last mechanical breaker knife switch. Pull the lever and the switch is snapped in two: the synthetic god reigns forever and can never be shut down. What do you do?
